Darley has a dry mill in Kampala where they grade and prepare coffees for export, and a drying station in Busoba, where they prepare some of their naturals before milling.
Bulambuli is a district located around the higher coffee growing altitudes (1600-2100masl) of Mount Elgon. It has a number of waterfalls and gorges that makes access difficult during rainy season. Given this fact it is relatively less developed than its neighbouring district of Kapchorwa (where both Sipi Falls and major asphalt roads are located).
In 2019, producer Ben Mukhone saw an opportunity to locate a washing station in among some of the best coffee cherry in the mountain, and this washed lot comes from 214 small holder farmers selling directly to the station.
This lot was sun dried after being pulped and fermented under water for 24 hours.
