Regions like Huila, Antioquia, and Nariño are particularly renowned for their exceptional coffee. Colombian coffee is often characterized by its balanced acidity, medium body, and rich flavours with notes of caramel, nuts, and fruit.

Specifics – For more than 70 years, Racafe has been the bridge between Colombian coffee producers and the coffee industry around the world.

Colombia is a diverse country in its fauna, flora and geography. Here you can find all types of coffees that are cultivated and harvested in a diversity of climates and geographical conditions, ranging from high mountains to plains near sea level.

Antioquia department is located in the northwestern part of Colombia on the slopes of the central and west Andes mountain ranges. This area is known by the ecosystems which are characterized by its crystalline waters, hills, valleys and for the production of high quality coffees.

Antioquia borders with Córdoba, Chocó, Bolívar, Santander and Boyacá Departments and the Caribbean sea in a narrow section at the northwestern part of the department.
This strategic location brings complex micro climates that are responsible for the great quality of the coffees of this region, along with a very careful and manual wet milling process of the farmers from the region.

People from this region are known for their entrepreneurial and innovative vision which is reflected in the level of development of the coffee culture of the region.

The objective of the CRECER Standard is to provide a framework to generate changes in the production systems of Racafé’s coffee suppliers, based on a progressive process of continuous improvement, leading them towards sustainable practices in the social, environmental and economic factors associated with coffee production.
